Transport Torques: The Flying Scotsman: Restoring An Icon

Join the National Motor Museum Trust team for a specialist Transport Torques evening lecture on Saturday 19th October to discuss the restoration of the Flying Scotsman.

Between 2006 and 2016, the National Railway Museum took on one of the longest and most complicated restoration projects in transport history, when it brought the iconic Flying Scotsman back into running service.

Anthony Coulls (Senior Curator of Rail Transport and Technology, National Railway Museum) will share the story of this project, its successes, its challenges, its controversies, and the tremendous impact its legacy has had upon the National Railway Museum.
